STEP 2: Schedule your initial appointment.

Do this through the BOOK NOW link. I often recommend new patients register for the "Nutrition 101: Metabolic Reset" class to provide them with a good overall foundation in the nutrition concepts they need for success. It's both less expensive AND more thorough than I can provide in our one-on-one sessions. This will be discussed at or after your initial appointment when we make your plan.

STEP 3: Complete your intake paperwork you found when scheduling and return at least 48 hrs prior to your appointment.

If you aren't able to complete the paperwork before your appointment, we may simply take an extra visit to go through your history and create a plan. That's not always a bad thing.

If you have been struggling with health trouble and haven't had any success at resolving it, I work in the functional medicine method of n=1. This means I treat you as an individual, and I partner with you and your other providers to get to the root cause of your health concerns and find a way to resolve them... not just medicate symptoms. I work as your private health detective and quarterback of your team. This might call for labs, supplements, referrals, or short-term therapeutic diets, depending on your needs and your budget. All this is done with guidance and support so that we are always working towards the goal of helping you feel better.

Two 1-hour consultations is all some people need. Many find success with regular, ongoing support. We adjust to what YOU need. I'll ask you to jot down your daily routine for a few days ahead of time and fill out a health history so we can make the best use of our time together. Sometimes we do a cooking class or a shopping trip. If people desire ongoing support, frequent, short phone consultations (or local walk-n-talks at parks) at regular intervals can provide the accountability needed to keep new choices going until they become a life-long habits.

I specialize in hormone imbalances and metabolic issues like pre-diabetes. Many of my clients benefit from starting a whole program of healing their metabolism and digestion first, before directly addressing hormonal imbalances. For this, I usually have them do the 4-week metabolic reset as we work together. The body's systems are so intertwined, that by the time one system is brought back into balance, the rest have come back into balance too. This is the beauty of addressing the root cause of the problem. It can also save money.

Feel better, improve energy levels, prevent disease, minimize the need for medications or help them work better... food and lifestyle are the places to start. I do not hold to any certain type of dietary philosophy. I respect the need for people to make the medical choices that work for them and believe in making use of EVERYTHING in our toolbox. Different dietary approaches work for different people. We identify problem areas and partner on strategies to create more healthful habits. It's all about being a skillful adult and learning simple self-management skills. If this is an area where you get stuck, invest in yourself and outsource some support. It will pay off.
